Meet the artist
I am Jun-Yi Lee, an illustrator and graphic designer in The Netherlands.
Drawing and painting have always had a place in my heart, even while I was working in graphic design. It was a way to get screen-free time while making use of my hands. I started creating portraits on commission in 2014, but thereafter took a long break to focus on my design career and raising my kids. In 2024, I redesigned a corner of my home into a dedicated and cosy workspace, and started creating portraits again, but now full-time!
One thing I'm particularly proud of is the Portrait Designer because I thought it would be such a fun idea to be able to design your own portrait. I am always expanding the collection so check back regularly to create more unique portraits! You can also subscribe to my newsletter for updates on new additions.

Drawn by hand
All my portraits and elements in the Portrait Designer are drawn and painted with watercolour or digitally by hand and only by me. This makes them 100% unique!
Get a unique portrait
You can get a portrait of one or more people, completely personalised in your favourite outfits. Many people commission solo portraits to commemorate a milestone for themselves or their loved ones. Many also commission couple portraits for their partners, or single parents with their child. Families with pets are a popular request too. Follow me on Instagram to see the latest on how people are using their portraits.
After 20 years in design and over 100 portraits later, I’ve discovered there’s nothing more rewarding than capturing someone’s personality in paint

The Artist
I’m Jun-Yi, wife and mum of two. We live north of Amsterdam, in a historic city called Hoorn. I’ve been designing for over 15 years, and drawing on the side for the same amount of time. I love coffee, humour, and books, and I practise ballet with a lovely group of ladies!

Hand-crafted
I paint all watercolour portraits by hand, on premium quality watercolour paper and with Winsor & Newton paints. I also use Sakura Pigma Micron archival ink pens to outline my work, which doesn't smudge and lasts pretty much forever!

Digital Tools
I create digital portraits using my iPad Pro. In select countries, I also arrange the production and delivery of high quality art prints of the digital portraits with a trusted printing professional. Digital painting is a skill I learned much later in my career, but I'm so glad I made the effort!
