For funeral homes & celebrants

A photo can be hard to look at. A portrait, they can smile back at.

There's rarely a good time for this, most families are just trying to get through the week. A painted portrait gives them something to sit with, long after. I paint memorial portraits by hand, from a photo.

Two ways to work together

Offer it to a family

Mention it's available. The family contacts me directly and keeps the painting for themselves, at their own pace.

Commission one yourselves

For a programme booklet, order of service, or memorial card, you send the photo, I turn it around on your timeline, and it's yours to print.

1
You mention it's available

A line in your service materials, or a word when it feels right. No script, no pressure on the family.

2
They contact me when ready

Before the service, or months after. I handle the whole conversation directly, at their pace, with no admin on your end.

3
The painting arrives, ready to frame

Just something good you were able to point them toward.

1
You send the photo and deadline

For a booklet cover, order of service, or memorial card, anything the piece is for.

2
I turn it around on your timeline

You get back a high-resolution file ready for your printer.

3
The original painting, if you'd like one

Yours to keep or to gift to the family.

“Seeing her best friend again through the portrait brought tears to her eyes.”

What's involved on your end

Just an introduction. No paperwork, no commission to manage.

Usually the family commissions the painting directly. Some providers choose to commission a piece themselves — for a memory book, or as a gesture to the family, that's welcome too, but never expected. If it's useful to have a card or a line for your own website, I'll put one together.

If this sounds like something worth offering, I'd like to hear from you.
